I call the forest my second home – that’s how much it means to me

2 February 2021 Forests in photos

This February, we hear from Andrei Lazăr, a runner up in our 2020 ‘Experience Forests, Experience PEFC’ photo contest.

Andrei sent us a video from the forest that he calls his second home. He tells us more about his photo ‘Creature of the Forest’ and shares his thoughts about the forest, its mysteries and current challenges.

“I am very happy and proud to see that I’m among the finalists of the PEFC photo contest,” he said.

“I am currently working on a personal project called ‘The wilderness of Cluj’, in which I’m trying to raise awareness about the challenges that the forest faces because of the development of the city. I almost call the forest my second home. That’s how much it means to me.”

“When I’m thinking about the forest, I’m thinking about its mystery. That’s why, as you can see on my photo, I try to hide the details in the shadows because I want to emphasize this mystery.”

But to maintain this mystical place, we must take action now. “All actions that are done to protect and conserve the forest are very important nowadays,” Andrei highlighted.

“Every step forward is a good step to protect and conserve the forest and nature.”
