This June, we hear from Chaiwut Temyod, a runner up in our 2018 ‘Experience Forests, Experience PEFC’ photo contest. In his video, Chaiwut tells us about his photo ‘Grow the future’ and why we have to protect forests for the next generations.

Grow the future

“Forests are everything for humanity. When there is no forest, there will be no us,” he explains. “Forests provide not only the food we eat, but also shelter for wildlife. We must protect forests and help them grow – for the lives of our children in this world.”

“Growing the future with small hands can protect the forest for the next generations. Forests are a part of this world. We must protect them and help them grow.”

About the contest

In 2018, we held our ‘Experience Forests, Experience PEFC’ photo contest for the second time. Taking place in 16 countries, over 12,000 photos entered into the 2018 contest. From the thousands of photos we received, we chose our top 12 images – all of which can be seen here.

2019 ‘Experience Forests, Experience PEFC’ photo contest

Our 2019 photo contest has come to an end, and again thousands of photographers and forest lovers from around the world have entered their stunning photos. The juries of our national members are busy reviewing all the photos and selecting the winners, which will take part in the international contest to become the ‘2019 PEFC Photographer of the Year’.
