The Fairytale Lane enchants the Belgian photo contest jury

'Fairytale Lane' is the magical name of the winning image of PEFC Belgium’s 'Experience Forests, Experience PEFC' photo contest.

Fairytale Lane

“This picture reminds me of my childhood and the many fairy tales about magic and wisdom that can be found in nature,” said Andrea Otte, the winning photographer.

Sunset Velours

The photo shows a path through a mysterious forest, reminding Andrea of the stories that her father used to tell her when she was a child.

The image was taken in the Brasschaat Park De Inslag in Belgium and was selected by the jury as the best out of nearly 650 photos that entered into the national contest.

Second place goes to Arnaud Corbier and his photo 'Sunset velours'.

The photographer describes the scene as the lords of the night leaving the forest, just as the sun disappears on the horizon. The picture was taken in Arville in Belgium.

Marc De Schuyter made third place with his photo of flowers of wild garlic, which colour the forest floor in spring. The picture, called 'Bloemenpracht in het bos' (Flower Splendour in the Forest), was taken in the nature area Neigembos, Ninove in Belgium.
