The environmental benefits of purchasing newsprint that originates from sustainably managed forests will the theme of the presentation by Michael Buckley, PEFC’s Singapore-based consultant, at the Printing Summit, part of the upcoming WAN-IFRA 2014 conference in India.
Taking place between the 17 and 18 September, the 22nd annual conference of WAN-IFRA, the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers, is this year looking into the relationship between digital media and printed paper.
The conference will discuss the business and technology challenges and provide a direction into the future of the news publishing industry in the region. The conference draws much significance in the backdrop of the digital media revolution facing the South Asian news publishing industry in one hand and the challenge of managing the growth of print media business on the other hand.
Michael Buckley will open the session dedicated to the environmental impacts of newsprint with a presentation entitled "Purchasing newsprint with a responsibility for environment. What are the environmental benefits of purchasing newsprint that originates from sustainably managed forests?" on Day 2 of the Printing Summit on 18 September 2014.
