In the run-up to next week’s PEFC Stakeholder Dialogue on Engaging Consumers in Sustainability, a survey by ASDA, one of the UK’s leading retailers, shows that more than 90% of consumers agree that wood-based materials should be sourced from sustainably managed forests.

According to the survey, 91% of all respondents strongly agreed or agreed that wood and paper based products should be sourced from sustainably managed forests, and an almost equal number, 90%, agree that packaging should be sourced responsibly.

In addition, the majority of respondents (59%) prefer for responsibly sourced products to have an easily identifiable label, such as the PEFC label.
