With consumers increasingly expecting packaging to be responsibly sourced, with minimal impact on the world’s environment and the world’s forests, PEFC Germany debuts at Interpack to promote the use of certified fiber and to provide comprehensive information about sourcing, use, and marketing opportunities.

“Consumers awareness is becoming an ever more important consideration for packaging companies, which strive for greater sustainability in their manufacturing processes. With our presence at Interpack, we want to emphasize the important contribution that PEFC-certified fiber can make in support of these efforts,” explained Dirk Teegelbekkers, Secretary General of PEFC Germany.

Interpack is the world’s leading packaging trade show and expected to attract more than 2,700 exhibitors from more than 60 countries, who will present their latest ideas, innovative concepts and technological visions.

The participation in Interpack with its own trade stand is an important part of PEFC Germany’s activities in encouraging packaging suppliers to only source certified raw materials for their products. “It is important to us to increase the understanding of the benefits that PEFC certification provides and to raise awareness of the significant contribution that companies can make towards safeguarding the world’s forests by the simple act of sourcing certified material from sustainably managed forests”, emphasized Mr. Teegelbekkers.

The Interpack takes place in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 8-14 May 2014. Visit PEFC Germany in Hall EN, Stand E, close to the North Entrance of Messe Düsseldorf.
