Building on the work done over several years, in the past twelve months PEFC International has made significant progress in developing and advancing sustainable forest management and growing demand for forest certification in Asia, thereby increasing the potential supply of sustainable timber by promoting sustainable forest management through forest certification.

Through a range of innovative methods and partnerships, PEFC International has enabled stakeholders throughout the region to develop national forest certification systems, increased the area of sustainably managed forests, grown market demand for responsibly produced products and improved access to forest certification for forest owners, from the large to the small.

What is the TTJ Award about?

Now in their 20th year, the annual TTJ Awards by the UK-based Timber Trades Journal (TTJ) welcomes entries in the Innovation, Career Development, Environmental Achievement, Website of the Year and Engineered Timber categories.

The Environmental Achievement Award recognizes and promotes the environmental performance in the forest sector. It is open to any organization that can show demonstrable, evidence-backed improvement in environmental performance in the 12 months from July 2015 to June 2016.

Keep your fingers crossed for PEFC! The TTJ Environmental Achievement Award  will be presented at the 2016 TTJ Awards Presentation Ceremony, featuring former England rugby World Cup hero Martin Bayfield as host and guest speaker, is on 30 September at The Brewery, London.
