PEFC International EU office moves to the “heart of the EU”

26 November 2021 News

As of 1 August, our EU office is located in the European Forestry House (EFH) in the EU quarter of Brussels.

The move brings the office closer to a range of stakeholders and partners, including the EU institutions. This will facilitate exchange and knowledge sharing.

“This is a next step for our EU office, and we are very excited about it. As a global organisation, we closely follow relevant developments around the world, including the European Union,” said Ben Gunneberg, CEO of PEFC International.

“More than a working space, we hope the new location will be a place where we can meet and interact with all stakeholders and colleagues.”

A place of exchange and collaboration

The new home of our EU office, the European Forestry House, is a well-known high-profile working place in Brussels.

Since its establishment in 2007, it has opened its doors to a wide variety of stakeholders and has provided a platform for continuous exchange on relevant ideas, expertise and information on forest-related issues.

Founded by the Confederation of European Forest Owners (CEPF) and the European State Forest Association (EUSTAFOR), the European Forestry House houses several European federations and organizations, all related to forests and the forest-based sector.

The PEFC International EU office

The PEFC International EU office is PEFC’s permanent representation in Brussels, led by Maja Drča, who joined PEFC as the new EU representative in January this year.

Our EU office will continue its engagement as a competent and credible forest certification partner in different EU policy areas and with various Brussels based and European stakeholders.

We are pleased to enter the Brussels autumn from a new location, and we look forward to meeting you there.
