PEFC Certified Wood in Green Building Policies

Green building standards and corporate responsible sourcing policies continue to drive demand for sustainably sourced timber.

Leading globally recognised assessment schemes such as LEED and BREEAM highlight the importance of choosing responsibly sourced wood to shape a low carbon built environment and hit net zero targets.

In April, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) released the updated LEED v5, enhancing support for low-carbon construction while addressing ecosystem health and climate resilience.

PEFC-certified wood helps construction professionals meet the risk mitigation requirements outlined in the Ecosystem Health guidance. Similarly, BREEAM, a third-party green building ratings system, awards credits for responsibly sourced materials and rewards responsible product specification and a sustainable approach to procurement.

To align with sustainability goals and meet customer and client expectations, specify PEFC-certified timber with full chain of custody for your next project.
