Ana Belén Noriega, Secretary General of PEFC Spain, taking part as one of the four speakers in this session will highlight the benefits of PEFC certification in tropical forests and how this can foster the use of sustainable timber in the construction sector.

The session, entitled “How to incorporate sustainable tropical timber in construction? Advantages, challenges and opportunities” is part of the World SB14 Barcelona Conference, taking place between 28 and 30 October in Barcelona, Spain.

The goal of the Conference is to encourage the uptake of adequate answers to the challenges, social and environmental, which the building sector faces. The building sector acts locally, solving problems on a local and regional scale, but must face challenges on a global scale.

The main aim of the World SB14 Conference is to propose and promote a Roadmap, to kick start a process that allows the building sector to define, as soon as possible, the local action plans that will give an effective answer to the global challenges, social and environmental, that it faces.
