PEFC Annual Review – The highlights of our work in 2024

We are delighted to present our 2024 PEFC Annual Review! 2024 marked a milestone year for the PEFC Alliance as we celebrated 25 years of promoting sustainable forest management around the world.

The year saw exciting developments across the Alliance. The area of PEFC-certified forests worldwide grew by over 2 million hectares, and we welcomed new national members for North Macedonia, Lithuania and Greece. The endorsement of Guyana’s national forest certification system marked a significant step toward first certified hectares in the country.

2024 saw big advances in alignment with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and recognition under the Renewable Energy Directive (REDII). Throughout 2024, we also strengthened our engagement across key market sectors, working closely with stakeholders in construction, fashion, packaging, rubber, and more.

Through the year, we shared the stories of inspiring forest heroes, highlighting the on-the-ground impact of PEFC certification and celebrating the individuals and communities making a difference for forests.

Coming together at the PEFC Forest Forum

Our 2024 Annual Review was launched at the PEFC Forest Forum in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where we brought together members, partners, and stakeholders. The forum served as a platform for dialogue and collaboration.
