2016 ben gunneberg

Ben Gunneberg, CEO and Secretary General

Ben has spent most of his working life in forestry, starting as a forestry worker. After completing his studies at Aberdeen University, Ben joined the University of Wales, Bangor as a researcher in Forest Economics.

This was followed by various positions in the Timber Growers Association in the UK where he dealt with technical and policy aspects of forestry. Ben then became involved in forest certification when he took on the position of Technical Director.

In 1999, he became Secretary General of PEFC International.

As a chartered forester, Ben has been further developing his skills with a Masters in Business Administration from the Open University, and more recently a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors.

Thorsten Arndt, Head of Communications

After finishing his Master in Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Thorsten began his professional life at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

He then worked at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) as Communications Manager before joining PEFC.

Hannah Price, Communications Officer

Hannah has worked in the field of communications since leaving university. After moving to Geneva from the UK in 2009 she worked for an NGO as Communications Officer before joining PEFC in 2013.

She has a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Manchester, UK.

2016 xavier noyon

Xavier Noyon, EU Affairs

Xavier has been active in European affairs in different sectors for the over 10 years. He was Secretary General of a European association the renewable energy sector before joining PEFC in 2014.

Xavier has a Master in Law as well as a Magister in German Law. In addition Xavier has also a Master in European Public Policies.

   

Finance & Administration

Natalie Faulkner, Office Manager

Natalie joined PEFC International having returned to Europe following 22 years spent in the US and Mexico working for several multinational companies.

She is Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the Secretary General, and is fluent in English, French and Spanish.

   

2016 gill parker

Gill Parker, Finance Manager

Gill is responsible for PEFC International's book-keeping and administration. Trained in accounting, she has worked for diverse international-membership organizations in the UK.

She has been with PEFC for 10 years, having helped to establish the first office in Luxembourg and latterly in Geneva.

   
Simon Clark 2014

Simon Clark, Finance Officer

Simon moved to Switzerland from the UK with his family in August 2010 and joined PEFC in June 2012.

Trained, amongst others, in Accounting, Simon ran his own businesses in the UK for countless years, providing book-keeping services. He also worked for 7 years as Administration Manager for a UK Accounting Software Company.

Fabienne Sinclair, Marketing

Fabienne brings over 15 years of marketing, commercial and communications experience acquired in large consumer goods multinationals mainly and also from agency.

She graduated from Nantes University in marketing and business management and further studied marketing in London with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

   
Julia Kozlik 2017

Julia Kozlik, Sales and Marketing

Julia is experienced in sales, data analysis and marketing. Before joining PEFC, she worked in the packaging and beverages sectors.

Julia graduated from Queen Mary University of London with a degree in Business Management, and obtained a master's degree in management from BSL Business School Lausanne, Switzerland.

Sarah Price, Head of Projects & Development

Sarah has been working in the forest sector for over 15 years, held positions with The Forest Trust (TFT) and The Forest Dialogue (TFD) and brings field experience from working in North America, South America and Southeast Asia.

She possesses a Masters of Forest Science from Yale University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia.

Rémi Sournia, Projects & Development Officer

Rémi has worked in the sustainable development field since 2005. Prior to joining PEFC, he worked for The Forest Trust (TFT) as a Coordinator of the European Union project Timber Trade Action Plan (TTAP).

Rémi holds a Master's degree in Environment and Agronomy from AgroParisTech, France.

   

Technical Unit

Michael Berger

Michael Berger, Deputy Secretary General & Head of Technical Unit

Michael worked as a consultant in the fields of environmental and quality management, organizational development and sustainable supply chain development for over ten years.

After studying Economics at the University of Augsburg, Michael completed his PhD in Forestry at the School for Forestry and Resource Management at the Technical University of Munich.

Christian Kämmer, Technical Officer

Christian joined the organization full-time as a Technical Officer after working as a Research Assistant on a temporary basis.

Christian graduated as a Forest Engineer from the University of Applied Science in Göttingen, Germany.

   
2016 johan vlieger

Johan Vlieger, Technical Officer

Before joining PEFC International as a Technical Officer, Johan worked as Coordinator with PEFC Netherlands. As a student in Forest Management at Wageningen University he helped establish PEFC Netherlands in 2008.

   
2016 marta martinez pardo

Marta Martínez Pardo, Technical Officer

Marta obtained a Degree in Political Science and Public Administration in 2009 at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has worked in the field of Quality Management Systems, completing a Master in Integrated Management Systems in 2015.

After moving to Geneva from Spain in 2015, Marta joined PEFC International as a Technical Officer.
