PEFC RED II training programme

The PEFC RED II training programme equips certification body auditors, reviews, and certification decision makers with the knowledge and skills necessary for the successful implementation of PEFC RED II certification.

The programme has an e-learning approach and is hosted completely online on the PEFC Knowledge Academy platform. Furthermore, we organise regular online Q&A sessions with trained auditors to exchange feedback and experience. 

PEFC RED II General Training

All certification bodies auditors, reviewers, and certification decision makers must undertake the PEFC RED II General Training before they can provide PEFC RED II certification services. To participate in this training, the individual must already be PEFC chain of custody qualified. 

If you would like to provide audits for organisation using GHG actual values calculation, you will need to take an additional PEFC RED II – GHG Actual and Disaggregated values calculations Training.

The training is made up of 12 compulsory modules that must be taken sequentially and takes around eight hours to complete. You will have eight weeks to complete the training, enabling you to work at your own pace. 

Once you have finished the training and passed the knowledge test, you will receive your training certificate and can start performing PEFC RED II audits. The certificate is valid for two years and you will need to undergo a refresher training before the certificate expires. 

If you lose your PEFC chain of custody qualification while PEFC RED II qualification is still valid, you have three months to obtain a new PEFC chain of custody training certificate. If you do not obtain a new PEFC chain of custody qualification in this time, your PEFC RED II training certificate shall be suspended.  

Please note, PEFC keeps a register of all training participants to ensure PEFC’s integrity, implementation of the management system, and maintenance of the scheme recognition by the European Commission. The information in this register may be included in the annual report to the European Commission and made available to accreditation bodies, certified companies, competent authorities or PEFC stakeholders. By taking the training, this personal data management needs to be accepted.

PEFC RED II GHG actual values emissions calculations training

This training will be for certification body auditors, reviewers, and certification decision makers who provide certification services for organisations using actual values emissions calculations. To participate in this training, the individual will first need to complete the PEFC RED II General Training and pass the corresponding knowledge test.
