PEFC Sweden

History before PEFC

Sweden was one of the founding countries of PEFC and PEFC Sweden (Svenska PEFC) was created in May 2000 by The Forest Owner Associations, The Federation of Swedish sawmillers, The Orienteering Federation, The Forestry and Woodworkers Union, The Association of Forest Contractors and Eight Church Episcopates.

The PEFC Alliance enables us to create high quality standards and develop our work in all aspects of sustainable forest management. PEFC certification serves as a common language in the diverse World of Forests!

Endorsement milestones

To maintain its PEFC endorsement, the system must meet specific endorsement milestones. The first milestone is the start of the periodic review within five years of the national approval of the sustainable forest management standard.
