Sara is the Communication Manager at Suzano. With a 19-year career in the forestry sector, she is an experienced corporate communication and public affairs professional.
Sara has extensive experience in developing and implementing strategies for communicating sensitive issues, reputational management in complex environments, cross-cultural communications, stakeholder engagement and sustainability initiatives. At FuturaGene, she has led strategic planning and execution of landmark public affairs and communications events and processes for the organization.
She also represents FuturaGene and its parent-company, Suzano, in several other national and international fora, including the Brazilian Tree Industry Association (IBA), the Brazilian International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) and Croplife Brasil.
Sara has been an active member of the PEFC Marketing, Communications and Advocacy (MCA) Working Group since its establishment in 2020 and, in April 2021, she was appointed Chair of the MCA by the PEFC Board.
Sara holds a bachelor’s degree in communications, a specialist degree in organizational marketing and a master’s degree in business administration. In addition to her business experience, she also has academic experience, having taught Communications at postgraduate and MBA programs for several years.
