Guy is the former Senior Vice President for Time Inc and the former Chairman of the Board for environmental non-profit GreenBlue.
As Senior Vice President for Production and Procurement at the global magazine publishing company Time Inc., Guy led the company’s sustainability strategy, particularly as it related to sustainable forestry practices and the production of printing papers. He led the company in an industry pioneering commitment to source 100% certified fibre and was one of the first to recognize all forest standards including PEFC, SFI, and ATFS.
Guy also was active in promoting commitments to sustainable forestry management with the wider publishing industry. In that capacity he helped organize multiple publishers to grow certification in the supply chain through funded projects that increased certified land by over 10 million acres.
Guy served as Chairman of GreenBlue, an environmental non-profit dedicated to the sustainable use of packaging materials in society. GreenBlue brings together a diversity of stakeholders to encourage innovation and best practices to promote the creation of a more sustainable packaging materials economy.
Guy is also past Chair of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Board. He oversaw the development of the most recent strategic plan for SFI which moved it to a sustainability organization whose mission is to advance sustainability through forest-focused collaborations.
