We are looking for a Market Engagement Officer to provide support to the Market Engagement Team, assist in executing marketing and outreach strategies, and coordinate activities and materials development across various sectorial programmes.

Your role as a Market Engagement Officer will involve providing support to the Market Engagement Team, assisting in executing marketing and outreach strategies, and coordinating activities and materials development across various sectorial programmes. 

The sectorial programmes have the objective to increase awareness of and demand for PEFC forest certification in the global marketplace. Moreover, you will be able to coordinate and execute a market sector programme assigned to you, allowing you to develop further your skills in project management and problem-solving. In addition to tasks, your role will also entail demonstrating your creativity, when contributing to brainstorming sessions for new initiatives or preparing briefs for social media and marketing materials. 

Ability to multitask and strong sense of priorities are crucial for keeping on top of multiple projects and timelines. You can expect an international and multicultural environment, collaboration across teams and geographies, and working on inspiring topics related to sustainability, ESGs, and responsible business practices. Hence, it is important that you an interest in sustainability practices. 

Responsibilities

60% Programme and other marketing projects support 

  • Provide support to the Market Engagement Team in planning, organising, and executing activities. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns, outreach activities, and partnerships to promote awareness and visibility.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings and external events. 
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and other relevant materials to participants.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and proposals for stakeholders and funders.
  • Assist in communication and collaboration with internal and external market stakeholders, including members, companies, partners, and organisations. 
  • Compile market intelligence and analysis (relevant market drivers, trends, issues, regulations, and best practices).
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the market engagement team.

40% Programme Coordinator

  • You will have an assigned small-scale market sector programme (e.g. furniture) to manage.
  • Development and implement programme’s marketing and outreach strategies to raise awareness of the organisation, increase visibility, engagement and uptake.
  • Project manage the development of marketing materials, presentations, and social media content.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with other team members to achieve programme’s objectives.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant records.
  • Compile market intelligence and analysis (relevant market drivers, trends, issues, regulations, and best practices).

Applicant profile

Education

  • A degree in Business, Marketing or related field
  • Proficiency in English
  • Other languages an advantage 

 Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of work experience in a marketing or sales environment for a wood related industry or an NGO. 
  • Familiar with digital marketing and/or SEO, marketing campaign development and execution, market analysis.
  • Experience of working in a multi-stakeholder, international environment.
  • Experience in working as part of a small, multinational, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ease in adopting relevant software (preferably prior experience) such as: Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, Zoom, Survey Monkey.

 Competencies

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills with a talent for persuading.
  • Creativity to generate ideas and briefs for marketing campaigns and social media content.
  • Efficient project management and effective time management.
  • Analytical skills and strong multitasking abilities.
  • Confident self-starter, especially as working remotely from the main office.
  • Advanced administrative and MS Office skills.
  • A keen interest for sustainability.

Work Environment

The role can be filled either by a Geneva office-based or remote candidate, requests from both preferences will be considered equally. 

  1. Geneva-based candidate, we work on a hybrid model, with up to two days’ work from home possible per week. 
  2. Remote, the candidate will be expected to travel to the Geneva office six to 12 times a year. Candidate will be expected to work aligned to CET work hours
